The Predator - A RMNT Review

The Predator is the latest installment of the Predator franchise, with Shane Black as director and co-writer of the film, and stars Boyd Holbrook, Trevante Rhodes, Jacob Tremblay, Olivia Munn, Sterling K. Brown, Keegan-Michael Key, Alfie Allen, Yvonne Strahovski and Jake Busey. Last weekend, I did a Lookback Review on the Predator films, minus 2010's Predators due to the limited amount of I had that day, but I will talk about it someday, which was all leading up to this! At this point, I knew fully well of the reception that its received, but regardless, I still wanted to check it out for myself and after seeing it with my fellow movie-loving buddy Gabe, was it as bad as the critics say and worse than Predator 2? Thankfully, its better than Predator 2, but... You know what? The full video here will explain our thoughts better:
So there you have it, The Predator is what we said it best: The 'Fallen Kingdom' of the Predator franchise. Despite some interesting ideas it has, the incoherent narrative, random moments of humor, limited characterization and the obviously forced hint for a sequel prevented it from becoming something a bit more, but at least some of the acting (particularly Jacob Tremblay's performance as autistic Rory McKenna), some cool action scenes and nice effects kept us entertained. With Shane Black in talks of possible doing two more sequels, who knows how this can work before realizing that a hunter should know when to stop...
