Venom is the latest film released from Sony Pictures, with Ruben Fleischer directing and stars Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed, Scott Haze, Reid Scott, and Jenny Slate. The film follows journalist Eddie Brock, whose life changes after he encounters an alien symbiote that grants him superpowers. Before you watch the video, I'm gonna be brief here: Sony continues to fail as a studio. The chance for a Venom-centered film was what Spider-Man fans have waited for so long as this had all the right ingredients, from Tom Hardy's casting as the character and a great director, but if this was made by a whole different company that didn't interfered, this could've been something special... But sadly, as time passes and many fans learning more of the film's production, the red flags kept popping up, including making the film PG-13, cutting out 30 to 40 minutes of the film, and false advertising. First Spider-Man 3, then The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and now this. I highly doubt Sony will ever learn since all they want is to make their own Marvel Universe, (Yeah, good luck with that) all for the sake of money. So after seeing the film, what are my thoughts? Just click and watch.
Despite the negative reception, the film grossed almost $400 million worldwide and is set for two more sequels, with Sony producing three more films set in its own Marvel Universe. Honestly, I just hope that this whole thing goes kaput. Definitely one of the top worst films of the year...
