Mission: Impossible - Fallout is the newest installment of the Mission: Impossible film franchise, with Christopher McQuarrie returning as director and screenwriter, with Tom Cruise, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Michelle Monaghan, Sean Harris, and Alec Baldwin reprising their respective roles, along with Henry Cavill, Vanessa Kirby and Angela Bassett joining the cast. Usually, this is where I start with a brief opening before getting to the review in full detail, but truth be told, I'm gonna be very blunt here. The first film was a very good start, the second film remains the weakest of the franchise, the third film restored what the franchise is all about with minor improvements, and I considered both the fourth and fifth films to be the best in the series, until now! Never have I thought that a sixth film would surpass the previous films in one false swoop in terms of story, direction, performances, action sequences, stunt work, cinematography and Lorne Balfe's musical score, whose version of the opening theme music instantly became my new favorite and also gave me goosebumps!!! For the first time, maybe in film history, and without sounding dramatic or anything, but I think I might've witnessed the greatest sixth film of a franchise I've ever seen! Believe me, I thought this over in my head and checked my review notes and I'm still surprised to make this conclusion! This is how you do a sequel! This is how you up the ante and that's all I have to say about that! It's one of the best action films I've seen in a while and I don't think this can be topped!! Drop everything and just go see it! Just take my word for it and go see it!
